Lou’s web reader.
If you saw LuvenBrandReader in your logs, this page says what it is and how to stop it.
What it does
Lou by Luven AI makes short marketing videos from a business’s own website. When someone gives Lou a site and says it’s theirs or that they may use it, this reader visits that site’s public pages to read the product, the images and the brand. Lou isn’t open to customers yet.
How it behaves
- It says who it is. Its user agent ends in
LuvenBrandReader/0.1 (+https://luven.ai/bot). - It reads robots.txt first, and honors Crawl-delay.
- It reads at most 5 pages and makes 3 data requests per visit, one at a time, with at least 1.5 seconds between them.
- It doesn’t log in or fill in forms, and it only reads.
- If your site’s security stops it, it stops. It doesn’t try to get around that.
To block it
Add this to your robots.txt:
User-agent: LuvenBrandReader Disallow: /
To allow it
If your robots.txt turns other bots away, add this:
User-agent: LuvenBrandReader Allow: /
